(8/31/05 7:49 PM): 'got word that about a third of the USSA's oil production was probably knocked out by this hurricane that took
New Orleans, so there could be a big gas shortage as a result of this hurricane.. I don't like to think about such things when I'm
editing my blog, but there is always a chance that this catastrophe will ripple through the rest of the country. I've been to New
Orleans twice, and liked it for the food and the W(sheraton) hotel there, and Mulati's, I also enjoyed fried oyster po-boys, my
favorite sandwich.. It's hard to believe that that's all demolished now.. It's happen to me several times, I was in Cancun out of
high school, a huricane blew away the beaches, a decade later, I leave for New York, my hometown (Los Alamos) has a huge fire that
takes a third of the towns houses. I leave New York 6 months before 9/11, and I've been to New Orleans twice (but its been five
years since I've been there) and this hurricane hits.. I'm happy I haven't faced one of these catastrophes but it seems all the
places I know are all being wiped away physically..
(8/31/05 3:59 AM): Simple
Minds has a new music video here (v). I like it. If you can read HTML you can get at the video.. I love Google, makes looking for music videos so much
easier.. Happened upon a cool White
Strips Video (v). Madness?
(v) You make a music video Mark Romanek and the suits at the record companies won't let you use it on your own site, jerks.. What is with Milk And Cookies do they have
a special RSS feed filter for music videos? Maybe I should do this, if I can find the source of the RSS feeds.. I like Bobby_McFerrin(w) _ _
but this is insane (flash).. My combination: Bass 2, Mouth 1, mouth 2, riff 1, riff3 .. Now if I could
find a James Brown song that's this fast and in the groove. Joe_Jackson(w) _ _
and Badfinger(w) _ _
seem to be joined at the hip on these two songs (r)..
(8/28/05 1:19 PM): I had said that the business model of iTunes is this, basically Apple makes iPod's with firmware that will only
accept DRM's from iTunes, and iTunes can play the DRM's you buy from them on the quicktime player but you can't anywhere else,
except on a iPod.. So the deal is, with all the current music artists will deliver on the iTunes platform, that way they can make
money because iTunes and iPod together are a walled garden.. Here is an example of exclusive artist content set for iTunes. But
if you get an iPod, you can only purchase and play DRM's from iTunes, not anywher else.. Of course you can play mp3's, but you
can't purchase and play DRM's from anyone else but iTunes.. Note, in 2004 Rhapsody's music service had the capability to create
DRM's for the iPods (so I've heard), but Appl cut that deal off with a firmware upgrade of the iPods.. It's not a huge deal, but
you can understand now why the iTunes platform is making money.
(8/28/05 5:50 PM): I was listening to 1986, and happened upon "Election Day" from two members of Duran_Duran(w) _ _
(then called Arcadia_%28band%29(w) _ _)
and recalled the bridge was covered by Grace_Jones(w) _ _(google collage) (who was a villain in a previous James_Bond(w) _ _
movie (probably how Duran_Duran(w)
_ _
got the View_To_A_Kill(w) _ _
James_Bond(w) _ _
gig, Simon_Le_Bon(w) _ _
made a big deal of being a James Bond fan, I think MTV even had a few specials where Simon got to meet his hero, a famous french
stunt car drive "Rémy_Julienne(w) _ _",
I believe that is him I do recall the footage of a shot of a car skiing down a hill).. Okay this was about Grace Jones and not Simon
Le Bon.. Somehow Simon came in contact with Grace Jones.. Anyhow, I had heard in David_Landau(w) _ _'s
biography [aka squiggy] that he is the one that convinced Grace Jones, on the set of Conan_the_Barbarian#Movies(w) _ _,
that she should adopt an english accent to get rid of her thick brooklyn accent, Squiggy(w) _ _ is
probably pulling our colllective legs, but it sounded profound to me since I've always perceived her as from France or England or
some place in Europe), I think she rather adopted her musical style from Marianne_Faithful(w) _ _
(compare Grace's debut album to her later work). Grace Jones is like an alien cat compared to Marianne (whereas Marrianne I think
was influenced by Nico(w) _ _ and Marlene_Dietrich(w) _ _)..
For some reason my brain places Grace Jones in the movie Cat_People_%281982_film%29(w) _ _
(Oh my, I just read John_Larroquette(w) _ _
{of Night_Court(w) _ _'s
"Dan Fielding", ala Markie_Post(w)
_ _'s
on-screen nemesis} was in cat people), but I don't find her in the credits, she would do so well in Natasha_Kinski(w) _ _'s
role. I also tend to clump David Bowie in with this group, it was that Avante_Garde(w) _ _
music I guess.. Anyhow, here is a playlist with Grace, Marianne
and a bit of Arcadia in it (r)..
(8/28/05 3:32 PM): Going to see Brothers_Grimm(w) _ _,
its a new Terry Gilliam movie (Brazil, Time Bandits, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas), note he is the only Python that is an American..
I've got spyware on my machine and I use TCPView.. I found another site that
may help out with things other than reverse dns searches, I'm all for more researching tools.. I also found out google is not as
useful as I thought for finding IP address correlations.. Like "123.123.123.0..255" doesn't really work a search query, I'm going
to look for another way to obtain this information, maybe to read my google hack book.
(8/26/05 12:07 AM): Discovered Keith_Green(w) _ _(r), good christian music.. I don't know his story but it sounds like he
has Elton_John(w) _ _(r) in "Run To The End Of The Highway",I swear that is Elton John, that's got to be him..
Anyhow, Keith Green seems to be somewhere between Elton and Billy_Joel(w) _ _(r).. A lost Gem? Note (changing subject): this is one heck of a list of Todd Rundgren Albums.. I must be living in a
vacuum or something, I totally missed this, a Tribute Album(r) to Jeff_Lynne(w) _ _
(aka lead and songwriter for Electric_Light_Orchestra(w) _ _(r) ). Those who aren't familiar with ELO or Jeff Lynne (like who isn't?) would
recognize "Mr. Blue Sky" which I believe is the closing track for Eternal_Sunrise_of_the_Spotless_Mind. I know I hadn't heard it, it's pretty lame, a
tribute to Jeff Lynne from uninspired musicians, this sucks, what's the point!! Well some are good some are not.. Like The_Shazam(w) _ _'s
version of Twilight is pretty good!! And I love Roger_Klug(w) _ _'s
version of Turn To Stone. If you are going to do a cover, first rule "depart from your natural style or it will suck", example given
Sixpence_None_The_Richer(w) _ _'s
version of "On The Run", they were probably bummed they only got that song to play, but for Sixpence its casual.. I didn't like Tony_Visonti(w) _ _'s
version of Blue Sky but now I understand it, its like a MC_900_Ft._Jesus(w) _ _
Version.. But Todd_Rundgren(w) _ _
doing the cover "Blue Bird is Dead", priceless..
(8/26/05 10:15 PM): Here is a John_Sebastian(w) _ _
playlist(r), the first song you should recognize, its the song from Welcome_Back_Kotter(w) _ _,
The playlist is basically John and the best of The_Lovin%27_Spoonful(w) _ _.
I even included the Mississippi_John_Hurt(w) _ _'s
song that the band's name came from.. (A good mix is John Sebastian, Three_Dog_Night(w) _ _,
Van_Morrison(w) _ _,
Thin_Lizzy(w) _ _,
"70s corner bar rock" as it should be called, maybe throw a little Huey_Lewis(w) _ _
in there {just "sports"}). I released the largest Rhapsody Playlists I've ever uploaded, basically I just did a shift select
and dumped everything in my Rhapsody Libraries to playlists.. Too bad I can't dump my custom radios.. Oh well..
(8/26/05 7:48 PM): I found out the singles group meeting in town is tommorow, so I have nothing basically to do today, Friday, but
listen to this Rhapsody Playlist, which is basically pretty good.. I took a few pictures of the sky which was beautiful..
I'm going to comment briefly on what Nate put in his blog, before leaving off for
San Diego to see his Cousin Josh, we play BF2 on Friday, or did.. I was serriously thinking about reinstalling it.. I think instead
I will do work.. Here is my comment to Nate about DRM: Basically, the proof that DRM can be sold is proof that the consumers
are ignorant, and convenience is king!! I purchase into Rhapsody but its only because I get everything.. But iTunes is popular
because the consumers haven't tumbled to the fact that what they purchased has their name written all over it, and once rootkit
hacker steals and distributes their music online, their license will be nullified by Apple, and then will have to download and
obtain a new license for the new DRM. More hassle will reduce the convenience, the fear of being traced back, when that which they
think they own disallows their ownership, that will teach the consumers. I say just let them do it, it will be a learning
experience.. And then they will realize how much this sucks.. But then again the teens purchased into cellphones which are
big-time walled-gardens.. BTW, The makers of FireANT are trying to determine a compensation model, and it sounds like the lead
programmer has secret plans.. Mainly if you want to share episodes from video podcasts with your friends, you can distribute your
favorites as a URI (with the selections distributed on their server), this means that they can track your usage of the playlists
through the times people use the URI.. You could probably also download the XML files and distribute them yourself, so its not
completely a walled-garden but they are being careful about how much freedom people have with their client. I've suggested another
method they coul dprofit from the client, but they don't seem to be aligned with the idea of using Open Source, they are arrogant
and think this is something new that nobody can rewrite and release in Open Source. And all the Video Podcasters think its a
fantastic application.. It is, but its really only gluecode with a nice GUI.. I think they are limiting themselves to just a
client-solution.. At least they are cooperative, but I feel like hiding the business model from the user base is dishonest and will
backfire on them.. I guess the question is how to make commercial software profitable again, post-open-source, which is not so
easy.. The way I like to think about it: Open Source what you wish to be a standard, what you want people to adopt, and
close-source that which you think you can make money on.. The concept of FireANT is not proprietary enough to be a money maker..
(8/26/05 5:45 PM): Got bored, so I collected 300 of the
first songs (r) (text list) from
300 albums lasted added to rhapsody. The most major problem I see in many of the songs in this playlist is that the
musicians tend to repeat the same melody over and over without any chord changes, as a rule of thumb if someone can't last through
the third repeat of the same phrase, there is something wrong with the song.. I suggest moving somewhere else with the song, like
try making the next chord progression something minor, or something that uses a different progression, maybe move to another key..
Its just plain uninteresting to stay in the same place, its also not very interesting to pick random notes.. Also play with the
beats.. And reinterate over the song, look to see what it is missing and fix it...
(8/26/05 4:36 PM): I don't listent to news all the time, but had heard that Robert_Moog(w) _ _
died on Sunday, NPR's Science_Friday(w) _ _
is going to have a tribute to Robert Moog in todays show (podcast
feed). Meanwhile I will try to dig up some moog embelished music..
(8/26/05 4:36 PM): I didn't want to prioritize this blog entry so I put it below the one above, anyhow.. John William's released
the Soundtrack to Jaws (r), if your office prank needs background music, there
is now a source on rhapsody.
(8/25/05 3:15 AM): Paul_McCartney(w) _ _
put his first single on Rhapsody: Fine Line. And yes I like
it.. Now I'm going to go to bed.. As well as a whole slew of Rhino "Hi-Five" albums: Better than Ezra, Gary Wright, John Sebastian,
etc.. There was a few Cristopher Cross albums, looks like Rhapsody is cashing in some chips..
(8/24/05 9:01 PM): (here is a picture of Mel with
Terry of the music group NRBQ(w) _ _ (r), I wonder if that is a Mel Gibson cutout). I had hoped to find the lyrics to their Dummy song, but it spoofs the bible with
the words "The media is my sheppard I shall not want". I like NRBQ's musical style, but I think its plainly obvious to them how
stupid the media industry is and how its just making people dumber. I personally don't believe Star_network(w) _ _s
are of any use than entertaining, though its easy to get worked up over news, its human. It's just all good entertainment..
(8/24/05 7:43 PM): The belief in the DaVinci_Code(w) _ _
is just proof of how gullible the people are to a book writer and film director intent on making money. Ron_Howard(w) _ _
and Tom_Hanks(w) _ _
are really just interested in making inroads with the Jewish clique in hollywood, favoritism, and making money. Belief in this
stuff doesn't affect them one way or another they are in it to make money ultimately.. BTW, I saw that Audrey_Tautou(w) _ _
was in the credits, now we know of another reason Tom Hanks and Ron Howard were intent on making this movie. As a Christian I can
see this for what it is, what Jesus said "Forgive them father, they know not what they do." I wouldn't be suprised to find
Mel_Gibson(w) _ _
and Michael_Moore(w) _ _
and Rupert_Murdoch(w) _ _
and Dan_Brown(w) _ _
hanging out in a bar somewhere kicking back proud of their ability to bank on people's trust and feelings.. I personally think the
DaVinci code is aimed at catholics and not Christians, and to say it disproves the Christ is just a poor attempt to insult
Christians.. To tell you the truth I haven't paid much interest in the book until I heard about the making of a movie and some of
the crap written in the book. The author believes his own fiction! The minute I heard THAT, I knew the author was banking on his
target audience which are the post-catholic liberals whose religion is art and poetry (they are called Unitarian(w) _ _s).
Of course you can clump the whole Orthodox Jewish community in there too, they really don't believe Jesus is the Christ... So its
just a work that inspires the band of Christian Conspirators, who, as a result, get taken for pocket change and are painted all red
with their loss of $24.95, I really don't care for your stupidity guys, and I din't pay much attention to this book and I still
don't, its just silliness in interest of getting a rise out of the conservative community, but whatever you believe that's your
right.. Me, I personally believe you could have bought a mp3 player with that money. Now you can join the ranks of LOTR(w) _ _, Star_Wars(w) _ _,
Star_Trek(w) _ _
and Harry_Potter(w) _ _
fanatics. For the secular world such organizations are made up of people wishing for a congregation. Sad.
(8/24/05 6:37 AM): I will go to bed eventually, I was triving to recall the band Nate introduced to me a year or so ago, and I did
some searches on google.. I found only one reference to it, get that, just one.. Gives you a concept of the life of a techno song
on the net.. Anyhow, here is Luke Slater's Stars
and Heroes (v) at least Rhapsody still has a reference to it.. Also seems his homepage was lost (probably the record company
lost it).. Anyhow, here is a rhapsody reference to the music (r), I still
like his stuff.. However it seems Luke_Slater(w) _ _
has evaporated from the face of the earth, maybe he hitched
a ride with Aliens.. Ah ha, hey, look at least he
beat "De_La_Soul(w) _ _"
(r) (v) on the
popularity meter!! Don't feel bad Luke, Mike_Rutherford(w) _ _
is somewhere around number 5000 on that list (I had Mike's solo album), and he is only one third of Genesis(w) _ _..
Ah clips from Mike+Mechanics videos (v).. BTW, people, the guy in this video is Paul_Carrack(w) _ _
of Mike+Mechanics(w) _ _,
he is also that mystery voice on Squeeze(w) _
_'s
Tempted (r)..
(8/22/05 3:34 AM): Before I go to bed here is a playlist I created
from titles of Music Videos I have obtained, some I could fills some I approximated, in cases where I've grown tired of the
original, I replaced them with something else.. For instance instead of using Stevie_Wonder(w) _ _'s
Superstition (I have the Stevie_Ray_Vaughn(w) _ _
version on video), I found the original (I think) Quincy_Jones(w) _ _
version.. Note this has to be the original because Stevie is playing harmonica, so this musta been probably around the time Stevie
was wearing Jeans jackets and his rhinestone poofie hat (pre-1975, Quincy is
the author of the "Sanford_and_Son(w) _ _"
Theme).. That was before Quincy got big on the producing of albums like Michael Jackson's Thriller and such.. (I listened to
a few of Adam's podcasts and determined he was not all that bad).
(8/22/05 2:11 AM): How to kill Microsoft, Object Oriented Open Source Software.. Listen to 25:00 of this podcast feed from Adam Green (winamp
feed), of a group of guys killed by Microsoft, and how Microsoft did it.. And here at 25:00 into this mp3, they will tell you
what Microsoft does.. Who else told you this?
(8/22/05 12:26 AM): After listening to Adam's show a bit long I determined it was uncool, he's too stuck in the past.. Where I am
with 80s music he is, it seems with commercial software.. It reminds me of what people say about Donald Fagan, that he's trying to
be cool again.. But Donald Fagan is cool.. I don't know what is cool about a software industry has-been.. I'm a animation has-been
myself.. But my problem is wondering why what happened to me did.. Each person has a story to tell, but I can't be self righteous
in saying I've never carried on and on about stuff that really only matters to me, but I didn't make a podcast about it and call it
"Software Stories".. If you do a image search on google for "adam green dbase", you find maybe a 16x16 image of a book. There will
always be that one guy who makes money telling you how to make money, which is to tell other people how to make money, that isn't
me, its too plastic.. But maybe one fine day I will join the dark side, Nahhhh..
(8/21/05 11:06 PM): This is a really cool podcast: "The Writing Show" (Drag This Link To Your Podcast Clien). Get the podcast on "September
Sacrifice".. Just listen to the podcast I swear you will not be disappointed. Another cool podcast (aside from the author
being a idiotic commercial software developer from the 80s who hasn't realized he's a relic, but aside from that he exploits
Microsoft for who they are from the perspective of someone who was taken at point blank) The Adam
Green Software Story Podcast, he needs to get with Bruce Wampler, someone Nate and I had for CS460 (Software Development), and
get melancholy about the old days of commercial software development. BTW, why do you think a wireless network always
works better after a rain, I find this the case with a lot of stuff, rains just makes everything work better..
(8/21/05 5:18 PM): What really gets me about "This Spartan Life", that animation Nathan pointed me to, is that the quality of the
graphics exceeds that of ReBoot(w) _ _ from
a decade before. An animation that like "Myst: The Riven" was made completely on Softimage(w) _ _.
(8/21/05 5:06 PM): I need a spell checker badly..
(8/20/05 7:31 AM): I applied for an anonymous job at Muze, and I realized they are larger than life, and based in New York, I will
take the job in Japan! Or California.. But I've been to New York.. Not like I don't know how to make my way through the New York
Subway system.. But if I had to, and was making enough to live somewhere south of 14th, it would be okay with me.. Preferably on
Green Street.. Anyhow, Nathan sent me some really cool audio podcasts
combined with Mechima.. I think this is the first Halo2-based Machinima(w) _ _ Video Podcast inspired by "Space Ghost Coast to Coast". Too bad three
fourths of the Ramones didn't live to see this. Ah yeah, podcast is probably trademarked by Apple, well how about calling it a
"hogcast", after Boss Hog.. Besides I can foresee the comic value of hurling a hog in halo 2, with Gary Gnu!
(8/20/05 5:26 AM): Wow, I can't believe this, am I mad or what.. I'm looking around for this song that Edie Brickell sings "Good
Times, Bad Times, Gimme some of that".. And I know, in my heart, its not their song, its a Smokey Robinson song, but I can't find a
dang bit of lyrics that attribute it to Smokey.. This sucks..
(8/20/05 4:00 AM): No it's not you, music was better in the 80s.. But I find more and more musicians these days who are learning
better and better how to capture the audience.. The problem is the over abundance of gizmo's, the over abundance of disk space on a
CD, copy-cats, etc.. Cut down your access to tools and use your head, if you are a musician.. The biggest mistake I see most
musicians these days making, too much experimentation, no harmony, and when there is harmony its usually to exploit a few chords
that sound good but it never goes anywhere.. The reason the 80s music didn't continue? The musicians got old, they lost their edge,
and their audience got kids and lost their edge. Some just got old.. Nothing more sad than regurgitating old material.. If you are a
80s musician, you will never be who you once were, that was you young.. What's next? Kiernan you hypocrite!! Yeah, these are
words against me too but I'm not a musician, just a listener (though I've been told I have a operatic bass singing voice its not an
interest of mine).
(8/20/05 3:31 AM): Sweet Creamy Chocolate Soup with Nuts in it is the reward for a well written piece of email.
(8/19/05 3:40 PM): I was watching a video of "The Move", what ELO(r) was before Jeff Lynne
joined the group. Actually Jeff Lynne was in "The_Move(w) _ _"
for a while. Anyhow, I was watching some BBC TV Show Recording of "Fire Brigade", and watching it you get a feeling for the celebrity of
the group pre-ELO and Roy_Wood(w) _ _'s
congeniality (Roy Wood (r)), I can see what Jeff Lynne
was attracted to the group early on.. Of course the only recognizeable part of the group is Bev Bevan on Drums. I guess the only
members from The Move that were in ELO was Bev_Bevan(w) _ _
and Jeff_Lynne(w) _ _.
(8/18/05 10:44 AM): | Me on Objected Oriented Programming (I tend
to be less precise on wording than most CS majors because technically I'm more an artist than a programmer, but I have the
capability of looking at computer science stuff from a structural perspective whereas some coders tend just to hack stuff until it
works.. I think better with data + functions using data + functions than loaded-up functions using data.. How you use it
determines where the complexity goes.. If the complexity is distributed among the data and the functions that use the data then
anytime the data changes the functions have to. Its the same with data + functions, just that once the object is working you can
forget about it, even use varying types of objects with the same code. It's just my personal belief that many languages that use OO
constructs have been commercially leveraged to make OO languages unwieldy.. For instance true inheritance is not needed to make use
of a OO language, but message passing is a minimalist form of OO design (like as with CORBA). The language I prefer doesn't really
exist aside from PHP, but if you can find something like PHP in the C world, I believe it would be a good thing to use.. I used to
use C for years, and I know how complex it can get to work with the single pointers, double pointers, structs, addressing, strong
typing and such.. With objects, you really shouldn't have to mess with typing at all or casts, that's something the language
should handle.. I also don't believe Java should have any strong typing in it, that's an attribute of a compileable language which
it is not (you can compile it, but fundamentally Java bincode is just encoded tokens of the Java language).. I have a friend who
did a lot of OO programming in the mid-90s and said that into the late-90s something was lost, I was using Perl and PHP so I never
really noticed much. I also have a brother who is dropping all OO languages in interest of C and believes he can manage the
complexity of OO design without leaving it to the language claiming that OO languages waste a lot of time doing uneeded stuff (yeah
that's true, if the OO language tries to abstract too much stuff, like how JAva consider operations on numbers to be methods to
literals, objects are really only useful as constructs they shouldn't be the entire language, that just makes the semantics of a
language ambiguous.. |
(8/18/05 9:14 AM): "This is Spinal ... err ... Casio". Nate, sent
this one in.. Only nate can find this stuff, I'm not this lucky..
(8/18/05 1:49 AM): I bet you anything that Yvonne Elliman's "If I can't have you" was co-written by Eric Clapton.. I can picture
him singing that song, in a slightly slowed down bluesy way, but the melody and chording are representative of some of his songs of
the time.. Maybe she cowrote some of his songs from "Slow Hand". Oh, I know the consumers were so against disco, so thinks you, some
people don't care and go with whatever is the most popular market.. Rod Stewart was proof of that. I personally never really cared,
I could care less if it was disco, funk, punk, rock, or whatever its all music.. But when people start talking, that's talk radio..
That's why I'm not particularly happy with most rap..
(8/18/05 12:04 AM): Watched "Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Jornalism"., if you can filter
out all the guerrilla video techniques and liberal slant, its quite informative.. I think the same slurring/smudging that goes on
in Fox-news broadcast journalism is being used in this video more to sell the video and to get the liberals insensed, but this
coming from a video publishing group named "Disinformation", I'm not suprised.. But its a nice piece of guerilla video, or a
good example. Some techniques used in the video, manipulation of context, fast cuts, overlapping of audio and
video of unrelated stories, racial bending (one spot in the video placed people of jewish nationality in front of a TV
screen to make it seem like they were being interviewed by Bill O'reilly), Making some guy named "Jimmy Glick" (I'm sure
I'm getting his name confused with Martin Short's "E!" commentator) the son of someone who died in 9/11 catastrophe to look
innocent and not worthy of Bill's wrath when obviously you can see him making fun of Bill. Look if you were interviewing
someone who had just lost his father would you expect him to use the show to spread his political agenda, no he'd be grieving,
obvioulsy he cares nothing for his father, so Bill using his father and mothers name to shame him is justified.. I'm not sure how a
liberal viewer would view this if enough timke was given to the topic.. Obviously this entire video was cut to sell to liberal's
desperate for evidence of Fox's injustice.. Also the statement made about all the other networks following suit and taking cues
from the whitehouse is not correct, it may have been the case that most of the networks for some time took cues from Fox once Fox
started reporting that Bush won the Election against Gore, in Florida.. But that was just an intent to bring news that all the
other networks were acting on.. They all trusted Fox to spread good information, but it made everyone look like fools.. Thereafter,
I doubt the news organizations were continuing to look to Fox nor the Government for cues, just I don't see much evidence of the
other networks switching to the conservative side.. This is the "outfoxed" guys using fox tactics to put across a perception that
is not justified with proof (and they can provide only one example, the florida election). Obviously CNN has taken the liberal
side of the cookie, covering all the stories Fox won't, therefore I watch CNN more than Fox these days because as the "outfoxed"
video says, Fox cookie-cuts what they want to put on the screen, and its obvious!! If you can filter out the liberally
slanted crap in this video you can get some meaty proof that Fox isn't "Fair & Balanced", something I agree with the makers of this
video, that Fox hasn't nor was ever "Fair and Balanced", its a purely conservative slanted news organization.. They filter out news
that makes conservatives looks good and leaves the rest for all the other News organizations.. Get with it man, Fox
sells to a conservative market, they are jealous in that they just don't want some conservative viewership, they want all the
conservatives.. But you will probably not hear Fox say "Fox news, the conservative view". I think somewhere there may be a
law that requires all News organizations to be objective.. Fox is objective, they object to showing anything that is not aligned
with the views of Rupert Murdoch and the views of Fox's audience.. What I would like to dig up is the video footage when Kerry was
ahead of Bush in the polls, I swear I saw Fox mellowing out for an hour when that happened.. Believe me, if Kerry had won, not that
I voted for Kerry, but let's just say if he had, Fox would have been singing the praises of Kerry and the Democrats.. (maybe I
should have, the act would have been worth it just to see how much more Flip-Flopish Fox was than Kerry, Anyanyanyany-how! ..
).. Why would Fox flip? This is my belief, the polls are the biggest most accurate marketing research survey, you get to
see absolutely who your market is in realtime as the polls are unfurled.. Fox pays close attention to marketing research because it
determines at the end of the day if they have the controlling half of the market, and if they don't, Rupert pulls out and Fox goes
on autopilot (straight news, fair and balanced).. "Fair and Balanced" is Fox's motto, a brand of sorts that Fox uses to
carry the trust of viewers who watched fox during Clinton's presidency, not to say Fox wasn't against Clinton, into Bush's
presidency, not to say that there wasn't an opposition to Clinton from Fox - just that there is a conversion process at work.
Brand is a commodity once people trust the brand.. So the more value you can entrust in a logo, a motto, a name, the more people
will trust the content that the brand is associated with.. This is true because this is how commercial industry works all the time.
` Example, I have a Peugeot Watch, I know Peugeot didn't make the watch, because internally its all digital electronics,
there are no gears, its a motor with microship circuitry.. What I believe of that watch is that Peugeot licensed their name to a
watch company (probably in Taiwan) to make Watches with Peugeot's name.. The Taiwan company would need such a name to sell the
Watch otherwise the Watch might sell for less because of the trust instilled the peugeot brand.. You could put Peugeot on a Orange
and the value of that Orange would go up about 20 cents, because people would begin trying to imagine what Peugeot has to do with
Oranges and then would assume the Peugeot family has a ranch in France growing Oranges.. It's not lieing, its a
manipulation of context. Which is what Fox does.. And its what the creators of "Outfoxed" do.. Hey, AS a test,
try this, take this Outfoxed video, and take one of Fox's news anchors books/videos, copy them to DIVX format and freely
distribute the two, apart or together on the Internet, and see which party gets the most infuriated and offended by this act.. Its
a good test to see who is spreading news, or who is spreading a personal opinion.. They will both be offended, I suspect, because
they want to make money first, and second their interest is spreading news.. So if you buy it, there is a good chance its biased
whatever it is.. If it is not, the people will decide, and I'm sure they will feel sorry and maybe contribute some money to each.
But I doubt people will pay each, and I doubt each will hold back their anger.. Draw your own conclusions.. This is
why I love blogs, you can tell people what you feel and they are free to take it or leave it, and if they take it, why should I
care? I'm happy for them, because for once someone agrees with me.. That's why blogs will overcome the news organizations, its the
purest and most accurate form of journalism, you get news from all views, its the news to me, and my views that matter, and out of
hundreds of bloggers you have a choice, something you don't have with networks and media sold for a price. People don't pay
for unbiased rhetoric, find some books that are unbiased and I will find you a unicorn (I'm sure there is at least 10 unicorns out
there and a st.patty's at the end of the rainbow with a bowl of grule {ima "Brevity" comic fan}). If a journalist loves what
he reports, he should love it enough to spread the story at any cost, but once he sells the story, those who sold it to have the
choice of printing it or not, this is not news, this is a industry supported by sales of information aligned with the views of the
corporate consumer, at the very least news should be free, and if you are a true journalist you should love to spread news that
affects you, although I'm sure journalists have a different view shaped by years of instruction and experience.. I personally
spread what I believe, what I love, what concerns me, though often its what frustrates me, I do it free because this is was affects
me. Jesus said essentially, "if there is no Love in it, it is useless", Jesus also said to "give to each man what his works
are worth", Jesus also said things like "go the extra mile, turn the other cheek", does Jesus say anywhere sue the guts out of those
who wrong-do you? Believe me, if Fox sues you, it will act against them.. And if "disinformation" (the creators of this "outfoxed"
video) sues you, it will act against them.. Because each is trying to present the truth, they believe, and the truth should be
free, if it is not, there is some other agenda that is representative of a lack of faith that God will provide. I guess I am
saying steal this video and distribute it, which is not a Christian view, but I personally believe it would be Christian to
distribute Christian rhetoric for free, what do you have to lose.. Nobody of one view will buy rhetoric that spreads a partisan
view of the opposite.. To some extent all news should be free and rewarded (possibly by our tax system but without favor, on a
fixed budget). I tend to trust people who do their art even when they are barely surviving because it shows that something is still
important to them and even in poverty they hold true to what they believe in.. Jesus was just such a man. And this is where the
capitalistic conservatives split with the Christians.. Believe me, if you are Christian and you are poor, Rupert Murdoch wants to
have nothing to do with you (other than to further his public perception, does he not let his right see what his left is doing?)..
Which brings forth the question, if Jesus were alive today, would he be on a major news network? Would he aligned with
George W. Bush? Would he make a video such as Outfoxed? Would he work for CNN? Would he strive to become president? I'll leave you
with those questions to ask yourself.. Because, that is your job..
(8/16/05 1:03 PM): Stone Temple Toilets, I mean Pilots, on their "Purple" album, 4:54 into the last song there is this hokey lounge
lizard tune.. Listen. I guess it was to prove that they were
not just yet another alternative band..
(8/16/05 12:51 PM): Weird Al's Tribute to Albuquerque (r), New
Mexico. Weird Al would blend in really well with Albuquerquean's..
(8/14/05 2:26 AM): Why Steve Jobs is a freakin jerk.. Recall from the Richard_Stallman(w) _ _
video (see 4:34-6:00), when he talks about "The Owner", this FairPlay(w) _ _
crap from apple is what Richard Stallman is talking about, stuff like this.. The problem with electronic licenses, the injustice
is, that they control with precise details how you use what you buy, you don't really own it, you own a license to unlock and
listen to it, but if you lose that license, you lose everything until you can prove ownership (if its in Apple best interest to
help you that is).. See the advantage of using a service like Rhapsody is you can burn the songs to CD-R's and keep them (as
long as they last, which is about 4 years).. CD's on the other hand, that you purchased for years, you can keep for a long time
(I've had mine for over a decade, and they only get scratched up, if you desperately need to play them on your iPod, use a program
like Audio_Grabber(w) _ _
to encode them to mp3 files (which is license-less and just as good as AAC). If you must purchase an album get the CD, don't get the
song from iTunes, its just plain mindless.. This is why Steve Jobs and Apple sucks.. Successful Marketing campaign but all
they've done is make everyone look like idiots.. Read "iTunes Music Store" under iPod(w) _ _ at
Wikipedia.
Note this is the same Steve_Jobs(w) _ _
who sold blue boxes that gave people free calls to foriegn countries, this is the same Steve Jobs who closed the licensing of the
Apple Mac's operating system to discourage clones of the Mac, while IBM failed to patent the IBM PC Architecture -> the reason the
PC's flourished and the Mac's didn't.. I can see how Steve_Jobs(w) _ _
and Bill_Gates(w) _ _
have both, individually, pulled the wool over everybodies eyes.. Also the iPod's incorporate Hard_Disk(w) _ _s
that can crash rendering the player totally useless (cost of repair is probably about a 100-200 dollars).. And these players cost
about half as much to manufacturer, I bet you!! Also the songs you download from the iTunes store are encoded DRM songs, they are
not designed to be used like a CD, if move to a PC, your music files may not travel with you, whereas a CD is platform-less, its a
simple data format that just plays back sound, it doesn't have any special code that identifies who owns it, who downloaded it,
which machines it can run on, etc.. I think the crap will hit the fan for the consumers within a year or so..
(8/14/05 11:35 PM): I can get intensely upset over stuff and lose sight of what is important, but it just takes some church to fix
that.. Had a good day at church.. Basically that you reap what you sow, and god will not be mocked (you can't really blame him for
the consequences of bad stuff you sow.. It's pretty obvious stuff, but part of being a Christian is just keeping track of
everything you need to be, but it isn't like some religions where there is no forgiveness if you fail, as long as you are still
trying there is forgiveness.. And you have to forgive others, which over time is easier to do, I mean, it may take a while to
forgive someone, but you do it eventually.. There is something wrong if you can't because you hold it up inside and it just makes
you more evil.. Pride can easily blind me to what is really important.. Like I had an argument over a small thing like what the
moral of "For a want of a nail is".. My friend said it was "small things matter", and I thought it was "for the want of something,
other things are lost".. And turns out he was right.. And I got up in a big huff over it.. Then I thought, its really not all that
important, what is the solution here, ah, this poem doesn't communicate the idea I wish to express.. So I found another one.. Easy
fix, but its the idea of having something I can see, but because he thinks differently about things, its harder for him to get past
the meaning of the poem, because he's still trying to get me to understand what that poem means because that's the discussion he
thinks, but I was using it to express some other idea.. Some people are like that.. And if you try to pull them out of that and
plop them down in the middle of what you are trying to say its liks some form of autism for them, like being contextually-raped. I
guess some people see that others seek to own things, to point out where others are wrong, and win these little battles, so I guess
you just let them win them.. It's stupid I admit, but at least it avoids the stupid discusssion that ensue if there is war over
neural property.
(8/12/05 4:16 AM): I just read that Robert_Moog(w) _ _
has a brain tumor. I hope things are looking more up
than this photo.
(8/12/05 12:37 AM): While adding to Gary Wright on wikipedia, I found a cache of Olivia_Newton_John(w) _ _
stuff through SingingFish.. This is a video of ONJ doing Little More Love (v), this predates Xanadu_(film)(w) _ _ by
two or three years.. Listening to this song you will get some idea what influenced the 80s, it was this style and sound (and this
was 1978!, 1979?).. Though she looks good, I like her music more than her videos, her world view is too New Age. The wikipedia
page on her is pretty interesting, especially her indirect relationship with Laverne_and_Shirley(w) _ _.
(8/12/05 11:48 PM): Looks like Gary_Wright(w) _ _(r) (aka Mr. Dreamweaver) just released three more albums on Rhapsody,
looks like they are all remastered versions of 70s albums, I like Gary because he uses a lot of Analog_synthesizer(w) _ _s
in his music. I'm s sucker for Subtractive_synthesis(w) _ _.
(8/12/05 11:14 PM): I saw "Amelie(w) _ _"
tonight, it's some movie the art direction reminded me of "City_of_Lost_Children(w) _ _",
I'm a bit of a sucker for french stuff, especially films that make use of skewed lenses, high-color details, amber filters and
such.. Ah it was the same director.. He's liek the Tim Burton of french films..
(8/11/05 5:41 PM): Boy I never thought I'd see this, Todd Rundgren(w) _ _
and Wolfman Jack(w) _ _
(mid 70s) (v). Todd Rundgren doing Tiny Demons. (early 80s)
(8/11/05 4:46 PM): I'm a major Elvis Costello fan, I've got it stuffed in my CD player more than anything.. His music is proof that
good music is not a function of tool quality. Anyhow, here is a whole set of music videos from Elvis Costello, I know I did it
before but I feel like puting it back up.. This of course comes from Rhapsody, so to do them justice you'd do well to get an account..

Trivia, which famous female supermodel from the 80s made a cameo on a Elvis Costello music video with Daryl Hall? Answer, and which Video?
(8/11/05 4:26 PM): Sometimes I get hungry for some 70s Pop Rock, and usually something like Boston's Something About You. Sometimes I just hungry for Pop Rocks(w) _ _.
Sometimes both..
(8/11/05 3:35 PM): Okay here it is, the last of weird al oriented playlists (?? maybe there is still one I can squeeze out ??)
anyhow, this is all the Weird Al Parodies for which there is no original on Rhapsody, because the artists are stingy
one-hit-wonders, oh I forgot George Harrison and Mick Jagger were smong these guys, they are stingy nor one-hit-wonders, well what
the hey.. There is a few songs that rhapsody could do without.. And some for which there are other more original covers for, but
they deserve to be tortured anyhow puting me through all the frustration of not finding their music on Rhapsody, I think that's
enough reason, ??? Besides George Harrison's well being wouldn't be hurt from the release of "Cloud 9", maybe Jeff Lynne would lose
something from it, but all of ELO's stuff is on Rhapsody, no Jeff Lynne.. I like Jeff, but the way he's treated ELO of the years,
heck he deserves it too. Nothing I can't stand more than a sellout.. This playlist can be aptly named the "Stingy Artists/Record-Labels/Composers, Whomever Weird Al
Parodied, -Torture Playlist". At the very least I expect Men_Without_Hats(w) _ _
to release their goods, as nobody will pay a dime for them otherwise.
(8/11/05 3:02 PM): The sad thing about being a computer geek is you become the target of much disapproval, leading to much
consternation of the afflicted party. Then you spend about a 30th the time dealing with the idiots showing them "here, see all
better". And they then waste 30 times as much time apologizing.
(8/11/05 6:17 AM): Listening to "Hate the Radio" podcast and its informative about copyright something that I never thought about
the concept of licensing used in popular media like WKRP and 90120, how these shows can't be put on DVD, and have to be re-edited
because the copyright holders of the music will not release their content for these shows.. Now that is just wrong, that is just
plain wrong.. This is why I hated the heck out the movie "Heroes" when Kansas' "Carry on wayward son" was removed from the end of
the movie and replace with some generic song. I'm sure that for some copyright holders this is a way of controlling things, but in
this day and age, post clear channel and podcasting, you can see how stupid this model is.. I'm so glad I got into the Internet
early, because I assume I and others pushed this barrier through our interest in pirating mp3's over p2p because there wouldn't
have been a progression for change. Well may they and I are talking out of our collective hats, but I've already been burned
by software licenses and I believe a lot of programmers have been burned by software patents and patent flooding.. On one end it is
to protect patent and copyright holders, but it goes beyond that, its to protect large corporations from small competitors. Anyhow..
Listen to this mp3, jump to 32:15 (www) We need Elvis Costello's "Radio Radio" in CC.
(8/10/05 9:12 PM): Got interviewed for a job today at the lab, hope I get it. What
takes some of the emotional burden off is I wasn't looking for it, they called me, which is usually better than looking for a job..
BTW, I'm cruising _
through the "I make things" Video podcasts.. This seems to be the tip of an
iceberg of NYC Media Geeks escaping through video on the net, as a way of fighting the capitalistic machine that rules NYC.. Part of
the reason I left.. There is guy named Timothy "Speed" Levitch, maybe he's real maybe he is just a onscreen nut like Napoleon
Dynamite, he's like the Napoleon Dynamite of New York.. Anyhow, he has this thing he calls "Anti-Cruise", the barriers that
prevent you from venturing into zones you shouldn't, and New York has a lot of them, his thing is to go past them, rather than to
get bugged about the anti-cruise markers.. Living in NYC is a fight for space and control of navigation.. Anyhow, I didn't know his
name until I did a intensive Google search, but here it is, rent it out of your video store, its worth the money.. The Cruise, Bennett Miller (v).. If you need to experience NYC, this video is so close it
almost brings a tear to my eye... NYC is so vertical, and New Mexico is so horizontal (indian land + two story height
limitations for buildings in cities like Santa Fe, discourage any tall buildings, probably why its so nice), it makes you space out
for 20 minutes when jumping between the two, some NYC'ers can't handle New Mexico and go screaming for the plane "take me back, take
me back, I can't handle so much blue sky, argh!!". Anyhow, I really dig the video podcasting, but the ratio of audio to video, I
listen to, is still higher on the audio end since I can listen to audio podcasts anywhere. I'm still debating whether I will have
video and/or audio podcasts.. Maybe if I can get Nate's brother Ethan to be the spokesperson,
maybe..
(8/09/05 5:20 PM): Deinstalled BF2, decided not to play it anymore, don't know how long this will last, but its too addictive..
Anyhow, I'm placing a new tutorial on how to install FireANT near the reference to FireANT. I delayed puting this up because I
hadn't enough space clareed off to upload the tutorial. This tutorial uses Realvideo, if you don't have realvideo, there is a tutorial about installing Realvideo (Windows Media Player,
Cinepak) on this site. I had told someone I have a tutorial about installing Quicktime, but it seems I don't, maybe I could do that
next.
(8/08/05 5:53 PM): What sucks about Thomas Dolby's "She Blinded me With Science" is every version on Rhapsody is not the original
version, even on Thomas' CD.. Its the watered down radio edit. If you get an old LP version of the song, there is about a 30 second
fanfare at the beginning, and at the end there is about a minute of synth-drum beats. I can't listen to the song for this reason,
ITS NO WHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL Thomas.
(8/08/05 3:27 PM): It seems on Colin Hays' website he has music videos to all the Men At Work stuff (labeled MAW) but they are not complete (v). CRAPPERZ.. This is my favorite (v) Men At Work Video. This song comes from CARGO.. I
had both Cargo and Busines As Usual.. Cargo is like Thomas Dolby's Flat Earth, not quite as popular to the general public but more
popular to fans. On second thought, this is my most
favorite MAW song (v). Here are a few covers (r) of overkill on Rhapsody.
Found a video of Colin Hay in 2001 doing Beautiful World
(v).
I don't know why people consider stuff like 80s music to be silly,
I never thought any of it was silly.. To me it was good music..
I like ELO, and some think ELO is silly.. But I've always liked ELO.
I like Weird Al, he may be silly, but its good music..
Music videos just make it more interesting.
I wish music videos were like they were in the 80s, rough,
limited budgets, creative, ugly and pretty, fuzzy, unpolished, etc..
The gals in Manhattan would say to me, as was mentioned when I said
I like the Village and the rough bricks and back alleys,
"it's not for everyone".. To me that is silly..
When things get to be so plastic like mid-upper manhattan, there is no escape
but to get out completely.. I've been out for four years, I left 6 months before 9/11,
so I can't really identify with the rest of the world, I did not shed a tear for NYC,
you might call that silly or cruel, but I was numbed to be alone in that city, and glad
I was out, 9/11 justified my decision, I just couldn't identify with anything having to
do with it anymore...
And to see the New Mexico scenery beats seeing buildings, people and bricks, and
hearing sirens 24/7 it beats all the music videos ever made, driving in my car, at 70 over
Indian Land, seeing the sun at noon somewhere between Santa Fe and Pojoque, blasting 80s music
of any kind, to me this is anything but silly.
So if you are baking in your car, and have nowhere to go, lay down,
play Men at Work's "Down by The
Sea(w) _ _"
and close your eyes.. This is
what its like to live in New Mexico...
To me..
As silly as that is.

(8/05/05 4:30 AM): What is keeping me up? Oh a fan at my face, that keeps me refreshed.. Anyhow, here is the The_Presidents_of_the_United_States_of_America_(band)(w) _ _'s
Lump and Weird Al's Gump(w) _ _, on
singing fool (free video!!, no rhapsody necessary). (v)
(8/05/05 3:09 AM): The Playlist for this entry (r) I guess I'm Legally_Insane(w) _ _
in the state of Rhode_Island(w) _ _,
something I heard on "Buzz Radio" (3D_Buzz(w) _
_),
that if someone is awake for more than 72 hours they can be declared Legally Insane.. Well not quite 72 hours, I got about 4 hours
yesterday, and this little project kept me up for another 2 hours, I took Weird Al's Polkas, and tried to deconstruct them into the
original songs.. The only stuff missing are a couple of Janet_Jackson(w) _ _
songs, but I got most everything. I got (amazingly) everything for the first polka including the bridges (Sound_of_Music(w) _ _,
and Lawrence_Welk(w) _ _'s
Bubbles in Wine).
(8/05/05 1:26 AM): Collected together Weird_Al(w) _ _'s
Polka(w) _ _s(r) together into a eight song polka.
(8/05/05 1:05 AM): Happened upon another band by accident, this time I was looking for the original Reggae version of "Heart of
Glass" that Blondie refers to in "Making Tracks", and instead found a group called The_Bad_Plus(w) _ _(r), and their experimental rendition of "Heart of Glass". Turns out they also have a Queen
song in there too..
(8/04/05 5:11 PM): I easily got 10cc(w) _ _
confused with Jay_Ferguson(w) _ _'s
"Thunder Island" in the 70s.. Its acalled Malibu_Rock(w) _ _,
and I would love to get my hands on more of these.. But "The Things We Do For Love" (r). According to notes on Rhapsody, Jay Ferguson's Thunder
Island contained guitar licks from Joe_Walsh(w) _ _. I
once heard Joe in an interview on Q_102(w)
_ _ in Fort_Worth(w) _ _
Talking about the best chord progressions.. He'd do some really fancy lick and say you do that and "you get all the girls". I think
Joe Walsh is another one of those Six_Degrees_of_Separation(w) _ _
guys, or is it Six_Degrees_of_Freedom(w) _ _?
(8/04/05 4:48 PM): I'm not a huge Stone_Roses(w) _ _
fan, but I kinda happened on Ian Brown by accident thumbing through the new additions to Rhapsody, and saw this album cover that
looked like John_Mellencamp(w)
_ _'s
first album, well it reminded me of that.. It looked familiar.. Anyhow, I compiled a simple playlist of Ian_Brown(w) _ _(r), with the first song being a familiar Stone Roses song.. Their music videos
were cool, that's what I remember the Stone Roses for.
(8/03/05 1:52 AM): I like the energy of this Basement_Jaxx(w) _ _
video. I know you didn't want to know
this, but to 1985(w) _ _
playlist I fixed it a bit, I added Harold_Faltermeyer(w) _ _'s's
"Axel F", but the "Crazy_Frog(w) _ _"
version.. Found a Smashing_Pumpkins(w) _ _
version of an Alice_Cooper(w) _ _
song I've been hoping would make it on Rhapsody "We're All
Clones (r)", I remember when that came out, it was around the 80s, I got the single in fact..
(8/02/05 7:21 PM): Hey guys, this is what you can do, for me and for others, get a Wikipedia account, get a copy of rhapsody, and
go through every band on Wikipedia and add a link like this "_____ on Rhapsody", and if you can, find out where you are store files
on wikipedia(w) _ _,
and store a Rhapsody playlist on Wikipedia for that band.. I've already done some for Roxy_Music(w) _ _,
Brian_Eno(w) _ _, a
album Eno and Byrne did together, David_Byrne(w) _ _,
Jerry_Harrison(w) _ _
(which they had "casual gods" on Rhapsody), Tom_Tom_Club(w) _ _,
Grandmaster_Flash(w) _ _,
The_Ramones(w) _ _.
It takes about three hours to go through the wikipedia Initiation, but you pick up enough just looking at the source of the
wikipedia content. I already have a wikipedia page on myself, under user:Rofthorax(w) _ _.
Note, you can add stuff to wikipedia without being logged in, so you could deface my profile, argh, please don't.. The idea though
is that wikipedia uses a log-file-like storage system, its a bit like CVS (Concurrent_Versions_System(w) _ _)
for a Encyclopedia page.. Nothing ever gets lost, unless the staff of Wikipedia wants it to be (of course).
(8/02/05 6:12 PM): Added 1990 (r) (quite a bit more than just a 100, more like
about 400, in the UK), Bananarama(w) _ _
(r) is finally on Rhapsody (just their greatest hits).. So is Deee-Lite(w) _ _ (r).. I mean they have "Groove is in The Heart", finally!! And Londonbeat(w) _ _
(r) has their greatest hits up. I figured, since they have these, they might have all of
Men_at_Work(w) _ _
by now, but I was wrong, just "Who can it be now" (r), at least that is something.. Colin_Hay(w) _ _ (r) is more prolific than that, at least one Men At Work album, I don't care if its "Cargo",
anything!!
(8/01/05 5:57 PM): Weird Al Yankovic's original songs
(r) (some are parodies, but no covers).
(8/01/05 4:07 PM): I've always liked Bryan_Ferry(w) _ _
and Roxy_Music(w) _ _'s
work, this is a good Retro album by Bryan (r).
(8/01/05 3:47 PM): For a change I made a playlist
surrounding my father's birthyear from 1929 to 1931, not all the songs are from the period, for instance the last song on the
list is from Bryan Ferry, but that's the only song on the list from anyone of recent (except maybe that "Moonlight Savings" song,
most all at from around the 40s and 50s, but you can almost heaar the originals in the choice of chord progressions, but most are
just swinged versions of the songs, sorry no Taco versions, that might awaken you from the daze)..
